I am going to write a feature on this script shortly that will be published on my site www.searchgrub.com as well as sent out in "press release" format.
I am just awaiting a few more features to be added and some tweaking to be done, I would assume at around RC 5.
If there is anything specific that you would like mentioned please let me know. I will also be including a link for donations, and want to feature sites that are already using the script, so also if anyone has a site they would like listed as a "user" of this fine script please let me know. :)
Keep up the amazing work, I am here to stay :)
Regards,
David

Thank you VERY much.
We've had a few more issues than we would have liked on RC4. For people who want something stable, RC3 is great. Because of the influx of people and requests for support, I have requested donations, and have already brought in 2 more programmers to support everybody. Support is still free! :)
We will be looking for a Final Release in the next 2 weeks. I don't want to add any new features, until all major bugs are fixed. We may accomplish this goal in the next few days with everyone's help.
Then we can move forward with additional features. :)
Thanks,
David

Hi sunnymonkey,
You can use my site if you like, it's nothing real special yet, but it does show that it is working great!

Thanks for the replies. I have monitored these forums for a while and always loved the positive attitude from everyone involved.
This script is going to be a very big thing once we get to the first final version. Well, what am I saying, it already is big! :)
The power plus the simplicity are the 2 key features. It could probably do with some more templates for those people that are not so hot on "code", especially those people that have no idea about the smarty system ;)
Once the RC5 is done and dusted I will crack on with my review. The biggest selling point will be the dmoz import and in my opinion will put you ahead of the only similar and free script I know of by Duncan Carver. ;)
RC5 will also feature as the directory on searchgrub.com soon too ;)
Keep up the great work and I look forward to the upcoming version, however I really would put a call out to some people to make some nice design choices / templates for the system as that will most certainly make more people take it up :) The power is there, the looks need some tweaking.
Finally, the admin area needs one or two of the terms explained a little more, or at least a basic "help" system to explain abbreiviated items or "technical" terms that some people may not understand / to know how one thing effects another in the system ;)
Don't get me wrong, the script is fantastic!
:)
Dave
P.s.
Look for quite a large donation at the start of next month ;)

Have already added a link to the site on searchgrub.com on the right hand side.
The review is started but will not be finished or posted until the next version of the link directory as I can already see that a number of "fixes" are going to be worth the wait :)

To be honest, I was freaking out at first with the number of reported bugs on RC4, but I'm happy to see all the big ones now have fixes, so as of now it is possible to patch RC4 and have a stable release.
I'm guessing around Tuesday of next week, we'll bring out either RC5 or the final. We'll call it final if we feel it is bug free and stable. As I said above, we don't want to keep adding features until we have everything stable, and the final version is released.

Dave, do check back within the next couple weeks, we're going to be seeing at least two templates posted for downloads, maybe more. The template I'll be releasing will be css/xhtml and tableless design all the way, to take this script into the future.
There have also be a lot of mod energy around here lately, which is fantastic. I see this script morphing into something very powerful, so stay tuned.

Don't worry, I have been watching this place like a hawk! :)
Just about to upload latest version to server now that I have a chance.
The new templates will be welcomed and once some standards are in place I will be producing at couple for you too :)

Awesome, glad you are still around.
Soon we will start numbering the versions without the "RC" attached.
It seems apparent that the development version will continue to get improvements for quite some time, so what we call "Final" will just be the latest release. The dev versions will continue, and periodically we will add one of these in the Downloads section. The code seems quite stable now.
