I plan to make a directory for blogs.
I want this directory to be updated, not to have tons of abandoned blogs.
I saw that you can use link validator to remove sites that are no longer there, but what about inactive blogs. Blog site could be there but the last post was written 5 months ago. I saw that there is a possibility to allow users to submit RSS feeds. Would it be somehow possible to use these feeds to identify and remove blogs with posts older than x months??

While not an extremely active project, you might want to try out www.phpldnews.com because it is a closer match. We could also do this with phpLD, but it would certainly require at least a few hours of customization at $35/hour.

Thank you for your incredibly fast reply. I checked phpLD News, but I think that php Link directory would be better with customization from you.

One more question. Would it be possible to have other ratings for websites included in the directory apart from Google page rank. Technorati rankings for example?

The short answer is yes, but of course, if there is not existing mod, you'll need some programming help.
