So do you know how to change the write permisions?

Probably not. I did set up the database in the control panel if that has anything to do with it. What and where should they be?

I had the same problem. I chmoded temp ans temp/templates to 777. Now I get this Error: "The page cannot be displayed"

@Kulinar - when you go to your directory online to actually install it, you are going to your url, and then putting a /install on the end are you?
p.s. - You do also have to CHMOD the include/config.php file to 777 ....

If you don't know how to do it via ftp software, the way I prefer, I also believe there is a file manager in most control panels, that has the feature. Just investigate the file manager that comes with your control panel, it shall be there.

In fact I install the directory on a subdomain and after completing installation I move the files to my 'real' directory. After visiting dir.mysite.com it redirects me to dir.mysite.com/install/index.php and then I get the error messages.
Guess problems occur because of my hosting company. Two hours later instalation went fine.
Content visible to registered users only. After starting the installation I was 'warned' to chmod this file.
Anyway, everything is now ok and thanks for the support.
