Install problems

Trying to get RC4 running and having a few issues.

Was not able to get the install to work, so a manual install was done. Files uploaded, 2 config files updated, database created and generated.

Main page loads as does the login, but I am unable to login. I did an echo of the query and ran it in PHPadmin, the admin account was returned. Seems login.php doesn't see the returned record and sends to the failed procedure.

When I go into the login screens it does show the info that I added into the config files. It does however state it it not able to connect. I have deleted and added the user from the DB to make sure there were no issues.

Still not able to login. If needed I will PM site info.

Can you tell us about your operating system and php version?
Also, do a search here for config.php so you can see what includes/config.php is supposed to contain.

Finally, just want to not we are still in the "Realease Candidate" stage so there are bugs, though we've made it pretty easy to upgrade, as we release new vesrions. ANd not, RC3 is a little more stable, but I am not sure that changing to RC3 would solve your problem.

I have included the syntax needed in both includes/config.php and /config.php

The server running the site is centOS4.x and PHP4.x with all the latest updates and patches.
