View Full Version : AdSense rules on ads on search pages
AdSense rules on ads on search pages means no ads to show on search results pages
Im wondering does anyone know how to make the AdSense ads not show when a search is done
I have a hack for vb but wonder if any of you clever guys have a bit of code that excludes the ads on search results
Hope this makes sense  and thank you for your time

OK, I went over the agreement for (old non working link removed) It does not state in it that you can't have them in the search results, if any of you want to go this route I am not sure I want to as of yet tho, I kinda want to see if we can come up with something that will omit the ads from search results.
If you are interested in going the Target First way, you can read there policy here.

Well, I have removed AdSense for the time being... I don't want to get my account ban, as I have it running on another site it would suck. If they Decided not to pay because of the search results. Anyone got any Ideas yet on what we could maybe do, say make a different footer template maybe just for search pages? if that would be possible.

I've been running Adsense for a long time on phpbb forums as well as directory sites. It should be fine, but certainly you must make the final judgement. I think Google is especially concerned about people creating big sites that are just a bunch of search results pages. I really think it is fine to fun adsense, and there are no shortage of directories out there using adsense, including on their search result pages, nor have I heard reports of take downs.

Well, they likely haven't got around to it yet, because yesterday was when they changed the TOS that there ads cannot appear on any search result pages.

cos & Valtar, if in doubt contact Google and get it straight for the horses mouth. That's what I would do.
Then give us a report on what's going on with it etc. This is your assignment if you choose to accept it. :)

It written in plain english it there TOS
So I need to find a code to block the ads on search results
Im going to have a look at VBullet script that blokes the sript on search results and see if I can go some thing
A directory with out AdSense will never earn anything unless it starts getting PR6s and above
For now I will remove the search function and not AdSense

If you just want to NOT include Adsense on the result page you could always edit the TPL.
Try this, lets say here's your adsense code in the TPL.
Content visible to registered users only.
Just surround it with an if statement like so.

Yeah, I've been doing it for a long time.
Just felt it would be better if you all heard it from Google.
