Site of the day - Won't display

I installed SOTD, I found some (post) questions and info about it, none of them helped. Everything seems ok, I'm not getting any errors. It even wrote the .txt file. I set it up to display on the homepage. But noting will display on the page. I checked and rechecked everything I could think of. I even gave it a day, just incase it took a day to load a link. I setup 3 test categories with a link in each one.

Any idea why it won't display?

Also due to some errors on my part with the first install.
I added the code for SOTD (and YouTube) to phpld, then setup a new DB and uploaded and installed the script again.

SOTD ? Need to contact the one who released it.
