Pay Pal feature disappeared???

Hi again

Is it just me being thick, or has the pay pal/accept payments and featured links option disappeared in version 2 of Newstopica?


I was wanting to use those features?

or have I done something simple that has disabled them?

Yes, this is true. And actually, take a look at what we have on the latest demo:

Link submissions are now replaced by RSS submissions.

I understand your desire though, so let me think about the best way to do this.

I really like the idea of people being able to submit their own rss feeds.

It would be a very useful for me if they were given the option in exactly the same way as the PHP Link Directory..

e.g.. they can submit the RSS feed for free for a standard reciprocal link back to the directory..... or they can pay $? to just submit their feed without a reciprocal link...or pay extra for a featured feed.... you could also let people just submit for free without any payment or link back...those options would make it very versatile

That was the main reason why I bought this script, now the feature has disappeared??

re reading the last comment on that mail.. I didnt mean it to come across as me being stroppy!!..

I genuinely just wanted to know if there is a solution.. as I did buy this script hoping to do just what I explained above..

But when I re read the post.. its worded like I was getting stroppy I think.. and Im not.. just eager to get on...sorry!!

Yes, I have no problem helping you, so don't worry. I definitely see the value in providing this method for you to monetize your directory. I am going to try to get to this in a day or two. Today and tomorrow are pretty "booked up", but please stay on us about this, and we will find a way.

out of interest, before the upgrade could I have charged for RSS links submitted with the old link Directry submit form.?

It gets complicated when we blend the "links" from feeds, and the links from link submissions, so we need a better plan for merging these together.

What do you say we sell Featured Links ONLY for each category.
Would that work for your needs?

As said in the message as long as the reciprocal link function is working then that will be enough to get people submitting.. but yes paid featured links would be an added bonus!
