Customize phpLD Templates

I have a query regarding your templates, - can I customise them myself, and if so do I need a special program to do so.

The templates are editable and I think dreamweaver has a plugin that allows you to use it for tpl files.

Yes, it is very similar to editing normal html files. You can edit in Dreamweaver even. There are just a couple of files that most people edit, header.tpl, footer.tpl, and the css file.

Sorry "edit" is what I meant, I would like to be able to change pictures and maybe colours. I do own dreamweaver CS3.
