View Full Version : My provider doesn't support cron jobs
Hi there,
It's me again.
:?
I asked my provider if he could give me the ability to schedule CRON jobs. But that's only possible with dedicated servers and I am using shared hosting.
Can I still use Newstopica properly if I can't schedule CRON jobs?
Regards,
Luuk
yes, but you are going to have to call the import manually.
btw, who the heck is your host ? warn people stay away from a host like that. I've never heard of a provider not supporting cron.

Can't run cron on shared server? Now that's news!!
Seriously, I run cron on a couple of sites that are on shared servers. Run from that host

I have sites on 2 different shared servers. Both providers allow CRON. Change your host.

I don't know the specifics, but you could probably create a scheduled task on your windows box to visit the urls and thereby run the scripts.

All hosts must allow cron jobs !!!
