search within x miles of a zip code

I saw a couple of closed discussions on a mod to offer a search with x miles of a particular zip code.

For anyone offering a brick and mortar directory this is pretty much a must have.

Is this possible with PHPLD?

Is it in the works?

Hi, we have done it before, but it is not yet a feature. You can expect to see it in the future.

Older discussions are automatically closed. That is probably the reason for this.

Thanks David. If you have done it before does that mean we can pay to have it added custom to our directory now? And can I get an estimate for this custom work?

Yes, I am pretty sure we have some code that we can reuse, but it will probably still take a few hours of work to get it working bug free and user friendly, so just ballpark, $150 range would be my guess.

That sounds reasonable. Can you add a search by one category drop down plus the zip code radius upgrade at the same time?

Yes, we can. I like to always let people know up front that we always bill for hours, and it is relatively common for things like bug fixing, usability, and additional ideas to cause a project to cost a little more than expected. It might be good to show a model of another site that is similar to what you want where this search is used, and then we can try to come as close as we can, or at least let you know what we could do to get it up and running in the least amount of time.
