My host recently upgraded their security and turned register_global off.

I am also trying to install a fresh copy of PHP Link Directory on my server but am not having any joy with it - I will not let me install it. This is the error message that I get:

The installer cannot start.
Please make sure that the folder /home/site/public_html/test/temp/templates is writtable by the user the webserver runs under.

However, I have set the relevent permissions and still no joy.

My question is could the turning off the register_global have anything to do with me not being able to install PHP Link Directory?

register_globals is off on my servers and it works fine.

Create a php file with the following and then post it here for us to review.
Content visible to registered users only.

I'd consider making a donation, someone would probably be assigned to your case.

Either way, it'll get worked out.
