Error Messages

I installed the newest version of phplinks last week. Everything worked perfect, no problems.

I went to log in to the admin panel today and started getting error message:

Fatal error: session_start(): Failed to initialize storage module: user (path: /tmp) in /home/cookdir/public_html/admin/init.php on line 39

Also, when I try and submit sites I'm getting this message:

Fatal error: session_start(): Failed to initialize storage module: user (path: /tmp) in /home/cookdir/public_html/submit.php on line 35

Sometimes the captcha graphic is displayed...sometimes it's not.

If I hit refresh a bunch of times things seem to work...I've cleared temp folders and cache but still get the error messages.

Any advice?

Make sure you have reviewed the fixes here:

If you later in the thread, you can even download the next RC5.

Let me know what you think after you review the above thread.
BTW, we should have an official RC5 in a couple of days, which is very stable and very close to what we will be calling the final version.

Since I haven't really promoted the site yet looks like my best bet may be to wait a few days and get the new RC5...wouldn't you think?

Yes, one of the lead programmers just got married, and I really wanted him to put together the official RC5. He is actually due back toady or tomorrow.

You're right in the middle of debugging and they run off to do something trivial like get married :?

I mean, geeze... couldn't that wait? :|
