Hi a couple of problems on a new instal at dreamhost.

(a) I've paid for access to the support forum but can't get in. Is there something else I need to do ?

(b) This is my 3rd install of the script - but the first with Dreamhost. Have uploaded the files but cant get to the web page to do an install (V3.03). Checked the forum & saw some notes about unchecking "run as CGI". Cant for the life of me find that on my panel. I found a checkbox marked "fast CGI support" which I've checked an unchecked. (didnt make a difference). Could someone please point me in the right direction ? BTW Im running PHP 4.4.2 will try as 5 see if that makes a difference.

Thanks in advance

Brian

Update

Just found this in the dreamhost documentation

There are two ways you can choose to have your PHP executed at DreamHost. The default for new customers is now PHP-CGI. This is by far the preferred method.

Believe they have removed the ability for us to turn this off. Buggger.

How can I get my hands on version 3.04 which another post indicates runs ok at Dreamhost?

Regards
Brian

I believe anon has found a way to install it on Dreamhost. You might shoot him a PM.

Same problem here
It said CGI mode is likely to have problems when I install.

And after I have installed, the control panel seems not work :x

Does PHPLD need api?

Unfortunately dreamhost just decided to take 'run as cgi' away due to people abusing it.

so anyone on dreamhost that has a directory up and running prior to 3.04, won't be able to install the script.
(but im sure david will try and have this correct this issue for prior releases)

also, anyone who does have a directory up and running, should leave everything as is, because once you change your settings around again, you won't be able to go back.

People who can see mod_php4.4.2 will only have that option available to them until unticked. Once you untick it, that's it, it's gone forever. If you don't see it, you won't ever be seeing it.

3.04 appears to be a few days away from completion. Boby is away for personal reason for a few days, and to take a quick family break, so as far as giving an exact date on release, I cannot be certain.

Good move. I use Hostgator and Site5.

Note: 3.04 installs flowlessly on Dreamhost.
2.0 does not.
