Hi folks.
I have tried to maximise the SEO juice on my site however in doing so it has knocked around my individual page rankings. Ive used .htaccess to change to SEO friendly URL's so it may take time for Google to rank us more kindly again. Let me know what you think of the site, Im thinking of starting it again from scratch. my URL is: www dot computer7.com

Unnecessary keywords are stuffed in Image Alt tag. Add only One or two keys like a sentence and do off-page work more and more.

you can do a permanent redirect from the old urls to the new ones and on the next update you should regain the lost pr

I run a heavily modified version of the simple phpLd template and have tried to contact the designer to work out how to turn on all of the functions that it has such as columns with featured links, latest articles etc. Does anybody know how to turn on all these features with this template. Thanks Dean

wouldn't that take away from the "simple" theme?

are you sure that template comes with that? Otherwise you can do it yourself

Hi there
Yes in the coding it shows all of the references to showing featured links in the sidebar etc. I had the Latest links and artricles on the homepage but I took them off. I will put them back on when time permits as this has got to be a huge SEO benefit as the Google bot will spider the site more often if the content is constantly changing. I found this with a classifieds site I used to run that when the homepage content was continually changing the search engines loved it. What are your thoughts.

Cheers Dean

well my thoughts are

1.. unless you paid to have the link back to phpLD removed, then please add that back :)

other than that, 2. yes...content is king. if you keep new and fresh content on your site then the bots will keep crawling it and having articles is a great way to do this for directories.
