Hi, I searched for this answer but couldn't find it I swear! :D

I want to make two or three installations of phpld script, each one on different domain, different db and dif everything except that I want to MOD my script before installation!

Maybe use html rewrite, translation of lang/en.php file, and other files modifications.

My question is, can this be possible without messing up the installation?

I will try it of course, just wondering if someone did this already. Did it work??

3 installs.

ok, that'll be $75 total (retain linkback) $25@ license
ok, that'll be $2255 total (remove linkback) $75@ license

...

where were we again now?

Content visible to registered users only.

I didn't ask for the prices as I already know them. I own one license of the script.

Sad that there are Moderators with this kind of "attitude". If you don't have a real answer then what's the point of posting that?.

:roll:

Most mods come with instructions conatined in the set of files that make up the mod. I would store each mode in it's own folder on your hard drive. Before you do an upgrade, I would back up any of the involved files onto your hard drive in a separate folder.

Follow the instructions for upgrade, including overwriting all template files.

What I do next is: open the .tpl file using ascii mode. Leave it open and overwrite it with the saved .tpl file you are looking at. Notice any changes, then cut and paste the new stuff into the old one, and save the changes. Then on to the next one.

If the mod involves more than just replacing the one file (ie., editing the functions.php file or whatever) you can go to the folder for that mod and read the instructions to ensure that each of the involved files is edited properly.

For the most part, this has worked for me. But I DID notice that most of VSdan's mods no longer worked with Version 3.04

He FTP'ed into my server to make whatever changes was necessary, but still some do not work as they should!

I suggested to him that he and David work out some sort of agreement to incorporate his mods into the new releases, and give Dan a small cut for his efforts.

Upgrading a site that is heavily modded is a nightmare! It always has been, and probably will continue to be that way until all development is done as a collective effort.

Michael thanks for your reply!

I will follow your instructions to MOD my files before any installation.

I will be using phpld version 2 this time and will make 2 or 3 new installs from scratch.

I appreciate your time to answer, thanks again.

and yet, you still fail to comprehend the information provided.

lets try a much easier approach(if that's even possible)
1 license != 3installs.
3 license == 3installs.

Shame some people have such a hard time understanding simple arithmetic, and even simpler licensing agreements.

Rob
