Hello,

One of my clients wants to purchase PHPLD for his new site. But he wants to run it on his local system so as to add entries to the database and then upload the whole site at once. He has 1000's of entries to be made and wants to enter data offline.

Is it possible to do it? Can i install a web server locally, install phpld on the said domain and do the data entry? Please provide me a solution asap.

Thanks in advance.

If you could give an example of the way he provides the data in an excel spreadsheet I'm sure we could arrange to make an importer for you. It might take an hour or two of work, but it won't be expensive. Most likely, the best method is to make one excel file per category.

Well, not exactly in excel, but could he have the whole site running as it is on the local server and have a few employees key in the data manually. Once all the entries are made, he would like to take the site live on the internet.

Yes that is possible.
However please ensure that your local copy is not accessible in any way via the internet for viewing by anyone other than your staff. This can be done via htaccess or however you wish.

Mainly, we would need to have a standard format that is used throughout to gather the data. It is surely possible, so long as there is some communication about how it is done.
