Blocking submissions to main categories.

I have been using an older (purchased) version of phpLD and one of the problems I have is that I can't block submissions to main categories. For example, if I have a main category called "Shopping" and then I have a number of subcategories such as electronics, furniture, clothing, etc., I want to stop people from submitting links into the "Shopping" category and force them to select one of the subcategories that best matches their product. Is this possible with Version 4?

Also I would like to know if I upgrade to version 4, will I lose all of my links, (just over 5,000), or will it use the same database or import the old DB?

You will not lose any information and yes you can close categories in the latest version

Sorry, please disregard this part of the post. I see someone else already asked this question and got an answer.

I wanted to try version4 locally using WAMP for testing purposes but when I try to install I get a the following error.

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare date_add() in C:\wamp\www\phpLD\include\functions.php on line 2185

Is this a problem with running locally or is it something else?

I set up a test site using PhpLD and set up 1 category and 1 subcategory however I can't seem to find a way to block submissions to the main category and force users to use the subcategory. I don't see any setting in the create new category form. Can someone tell me how I do this?

Hi, sorry I am new around here, I was having the same problem and was searching around for a solution, where is the Supporters forum?

I paid for a V4 licence, does that allow me to use it? I can't see it.. I can only see a link to the Support for V2.
