auto notifications of approval

how to activate auto notification mail alert to user when we approve
the link in directory admin , please note my phpld is 2.2.
I can see the admin notification of new link submission.
but how to automate the mail alert to user who submitted link, so he gets mail when his link get approved

I am not sure about version 2 but if you will click on users and then click on yourself the notifications should be in there.
