Can't log in to admin?

I did the install, and then setup a number of catagories but now i can't access the admin page?

If I type in www .alexxxa.net/directory/admin

nothing happens

I can get the login box up by then typing

www .alexxxa.net/directory/admin/login.php

but nothing happens after I add my details

The occasionally If I change the login.php to index.php I'll be in the admin panel.


However this gets me to the directory page

www .alexxxa.net/directory/admin/login


I am utterly confused!
