There is a domain name that I want however do not have enough right now to pay what the current owner of the domain is asking for it. If I was to purchase the software and use it on Domain B which i currently own and then later get Domain A. can I move it to Domain A and not have to pay for another license. Domain B would then just redirect to Domain A in case anyone still had Domain B book marked.

Yes you can change the domain in your phpLD user area at anytime as long as the script is moved.

Yes, that is fine. If you do a permanent redirect so that domain A no longer is viewable because it forwards to domain B you would not need another license. If you are mirroring domain a and b then you would need two licenses.

David

how are sub domains handled with regards to licensing ?

and I would like to set it up to support multiple cities. lets say i have CityA, CityB, and CityC. I want it to look like domain.com/CityA and domain.com/CityB ect... each city would then have its own site. each site and would have the same categories but would have different business links, and ideally i would want all of the cities to share the same database.

would that be possible ?

oh and while I am thinking about it would it be possible to allow my members to create blogs and lists that they can share with other members. so that for example in a dining category a member could create a blog about the places that he/she has visited or maybe create a list of their 10 ten favorite places to eat.

You could definitely setup editors with rights to create articles or links in certain categories.

We are always happy to review someone's specific plan. It might be possible handle much of this with copy of phpLD. Often that is the case in questions like this one. We can work with people on licensing for subdomains though, but in most cases we find a way to use a single copy of phpLD effectively.
