Yes, it works on any database.

Does it have an option to automatically do the backup or do you have to manually do it each time?

I believe it is manual, but I'll bet our programmer wouldn't mind adding a method to let it sit in the tray and run either. If everything else checks out, let me know, and I will see about getting this added.
