Hey everyone,

After a week or two of working on it, I've got my first real directory complete and ready to go. It's a niche, local directory for law firms in several major cities. I'm going to start emailing and contacting attorneys to let them know about my directory, and hopefully they will submit their site. Right now it's recip only.

I'd appreciate any feedback on how the site looks :) The address is: the-law-review (dot) com

Second of all, I had a few questions regarding how you've built traffic. Will traffic build as you collect more reciprocal links? Does simply having many reciprocal links do a lot for SEO and search engine rankings?

Do you find you get traffic DIRECTLY from the links placed on link-submitters' websites, or from google traffic created as a result of the SEO help from those links? How else do you get a steady stream of traffic to your directories?

Thank you!

Nice looking site, I like the graphics for regions, nice idea. Good header and colour scheme.

No junk anywhere easy on the eye.

I would put something in the right column though.

Be aware I get hundreds of submissions on my directories for USA law companies, alot are just adsense/scam sites.

You could start getting your site out by adding it to some of the directories on this list (http://www.vmoptions.com/directory-list.php)

Do a search on google for directory of directories and get listed in the appropriate category.

Be careful with the emailing to get listing, especially from lawyers, all it takes is one spam complaint and all your work will be instantly history.

I wanted to address the concept of reciprocal links. Going to crazy with this has been known to bring about a penalty on google, so please be aware of this. There are probably other strategies you can use to build links to your site.
