Confirmation Emails not beign sent

I am running ArticleDirectory 3.4.0
I have never gotten the "welcome" emails to work so my authors have no way to post an article.

The emails from the contact page work without a problem so I know that I can at least send emails from the application.

I figure that it is high time to get the site working - any ideas on what may be the problem?

when installed did you check off associate email templates in the next to last step?
Who is your host also.

I did the install months back so I cannot honestly tell you with any certainty that I did or did not check off associate email templates - is there anyway for me to tell after the fact?

My host is Webhost4life.

Me personally I would run the installer again and make sure i checked it off.
Easiest and fastest way to do so :)

You will not lose any information.
once that is done I will do a test submit for you

I have re-run the installer (and made sure that I checked off associate email templates) - everything looks fine.

I did a test submit myself and it doesn't look like it sent the welcome email.

and I will investigate. If you grant me access to set up smtp via your hosting panel that would be help alot also
