Compatible With: All versions from 3.2

DESCRIPTION:
Allows you to list your phpLD links on any other website. The destination website does not require php and only needs Javascript support.

Without modification (as-is), it allows listing of latest 5 links and displays a linked title on the destination site. Code is easily modified to allow for descriptions, only featured links or articles etc.

PRICE:
Self-Install : Free for previous purchasers of my mods *
Fully Installed : Varies, depending upoin requirements.

INSTALLTION:
Extremely easy to install, but if you really can't, or don't want to do it, I'll do it for a nominal donation of your choice, However, FTP access would be required to both the source and destination sites.

DEMO:
Running at www.bruleo.com (http://www.phplinkdirectory.com/forum/externalredirect.php?url=http://www.bruleo.com) the footer. (for 8 different directories).

NOTES:
a) No styling is included, only a basic list using <ul>&<li> tags. You can style these how you want for your own site.

b) As this a free mod, support is very limited. However, it is easy to install with just a single file upload and one template edit (for each directory) and it works as-is.

c) In order to not affect the loading of the destination site, results are cached, meaning that results will only update whenever the originating site's cache is refreshed, either manually or by the schedule you have set in admin. Results can by live if you wish, but not really recommended.

* To access instructions, you need be both a phpLD licenced user AND a registered user at www.bruleo.com/forum (http://www.phplinkdirectory.com/forum/externalredirect.php?url=http://www.bruleo.com/forum). Registration is by invite ONLY. If you are a previous customer of mine and not already registered, please PM me for an invite key. Users already registered who have previously purchased other mods should already have automatic access. Let me know if you don't.

All support is handled at my the link above. No exceptions.

Bruce-

Great Mod, perfect for my wordpress/phpld integration project. This really saved me a lot of time, since I'm not so great with the php coding. :)

I added an extra submit item via phpld V4.1 and was easily able to grab that and add it into the mod. I'm not quite finished up with my site, but you can check it out here: http://www.livinggreenlocally.com/vip-card/

Much Appreciated!

Content visible to registered users only.
Completely off subject, but I did notice on the above website, the link to directoryhound does not actually go there. Not sure if that was on purpose, but I wanted to let you know :)

@proprod: Well spotted! A bit of a typo on my part. Site is still being developed, so will edit that when I next work on it. Thanks for that.

@littlemiss: Your welcome. I think for a very simple mod, it's quite useful.

Bruce.

Bruce,

I know I requested this mod a month ago, however it works perfectly. I am in the process of creating a forum and this was the best mod available to promote my directory listings.

You can see it here http://forum.visionbusinesspros.com/ located at the top right hand side.

I would appreciate the time to talk about other ideas on how I would like to use this mod. Please PM if you have the time.

Thanks -

Bruce,

I have noticed that links aren't showing anymore at www.livinggreenlocally.com/vip-card/
I'm going to look around to see if I can figure it out, but if you have a moment to give me any ideas I'd really appreciate it, thanks!

Well, if it was working and now it's not, either you or your hosting changed something and there would be absolutely no way of second guessing what that could be!

Okay, I am sure it is something to do with hosting- they were "upgrading servers" last week and I haven't changed anything. I was just hoping your amazing brain might have a good starting point for me. =) I see that this weekend's been a little hairy for the mods on here and I'm probably just being greedy because this forum always makes things sooo much faster for me LOL.

Thanks for all your support!

Jenni

The only things I can suggest is to make sure both files (rll.php on your directory site and the one where you placed the javascript on the destination site) are in place. It shouldn't be anything to do with remote connections, as I coded it in such away that the details are 'pushed' rather than 'pulled'.

If you REALLY get stuck, PM me, but bare in mind it's a free mod, so I ask that you at least try yourself, as any support for it is really only when I have little else to do. ;)

.... and for reference, I don't mind anyone contacting me by PM regarding my own mods and code for any reason, or better still by email if you already have it.

I only take issue with those people that PM me phpLD support related issues, especially when that haven't been bothered to wait more than a few minutes after posting in the forum. From now on, those PM's will be ignored (and reported).

Bruelo -

I finally was able to do more with your remote listings mod. Took some concentration, however I tweaked your mod and now I am able to use it as a Site of the Day remote listing.

I also added thumbshot images to it and now I can show a different directory listing daily to help bring exposure to them. As an owner of 14 different websites - your mod rocks.... Thanks

Glad it works for you.

I deliberately kept it simple so that it could be customised 'fairly' easily. And yes, there is no reason why you cannot pull any other link, category or article data and add thumbnails to remote listings. Just remember it's always best to cache the results as the more stuff you pull to display remotely, the more resources usage on the source site will be.

Thanks for the comments.

Bruce.
