Can I do this with PHP Link Directory?

I want to get into Affiliate Marketing. My plan is to pick a niche targeted at people looking to buy a specific thing (I already have this niche in mind), and join as many affiliate programs within that niche as possible. I will then populate my directory with affiliate links. I may also add affiliate banners here and there. Directory visitors can post reviews and rate the links.

Can I do this with PHP Link Directory? Do you think it would be successful and I'd make money with it (provided I promote it well)?

Yes you can do this with phpLD.

As far as to the success part, I would say it will be based on how well your promote it and how much time you are willing to put into it.
I have seen where people have really devoted time with a solid plan and have had great success.

Thanks for the quick reply! I have one more question -- some of the links I'll add to my directory fit into more than one category. Does php Link Directory support the feature of adding a link ONCE and then including it in multiple categories? Will this be counted as "duplicate content" by Google and other SE's? Thank you for info you can give me!

BTW: James, the ants in your sig really gave me a fright at first, I almost banged up my computer screen. :o Then I would've REALLY needed that affiliate commission money!

Yes. Now with regard to duplicate content, the important thing is your directory being different than others. For example, many people submit to directories, if you have all the same links as everyone else, with the same titles and descriptions, that is where duplicate content hurt you more. But by adding some links yourself and carefully editing titles and descriptions for the links you receive you can have a very unique and worthwhile site that is definitely not duplicate. Some links in multiple categories should not pose a problem if you are doing other things right.
