Link Payment Notification

what doest the: "Link Payment Notification" in the administration->profile area do? I mean it is checked...but i don't get mails when somebody pays for the link, is it not working, is it not doing what i think it does, or am i not using it correctly?

i did but couldn't find it..that's why i posted a new thread..maybe i just got past it somewhere :(
