tried it and it aint that hot, is it worth me buying version 3? I read lots of problems on it and dont want to waste my money on fixing. Is there a totally bug free version coming out? What I mean is one that works for 99.9% of it, kinda like an antivirus? I know bugs can happen been reading this place long time but is it always gonna be in beta phase like this with users as testers?
only being honest :)

sorry...i have to laugh...
where you can buy a bugfree software???
I think its worth to buy it... many problems of the script are not because the script has many bugs or something..
Many probs are results from a wrong server-configuration, or wrong handling/installation and changing of the script..
Show me a script that has the same features like phpld... and that is offered for this minimal fee.....

you dont have to laugh unless you want to. I am only going by my reading here and that. I am professionaly qualified on mySQL so and working on backend is a breeze. The changing of the script is where you are right on as this is where I see most problems. Joomla (http://extensions.joomla.org/component/option,com_mtree/task,viewlink/link_id,620/Itemid,35/) is a FREE script and opensource like this one so I was not wanting to compare but you did ask.
thanks for the answer though.

by the way.. i dont wanted to attack you ;)
i can say you, i am no programmer, have only a very small knowledge about sql,php and html... and i have no problems with the script..
nearly all problems with install and running were made by myself.. and for nearly all i get a quick answer here in the forum.. i tried some free software before...with the most i had problems because of i`m not a coder...
now i really prefer phpld.. good features, good support and... the cheap price... but, test it by yourself :)

The 3.xx is (deffinently) worth buying. You have free upgrades to the next version and better bug fixes, and mods. When buying the package of 3.xx be sure to think about buying the support for the 3.xx support, that is given to you in full support by the devs and those who have paid for the support as well, the mods in which are not given out on the Mods & Contributions, though VSDan advertises them, but those are scripts he has done and DO require a donation of $5's (not a bad price :D)

Dont mean this harsh but your a moderator so bound to back up the script. I want impartial advice on this from users who have no other interest than making a succesful directory like I want to.
I see there is even a hacker now? are there any other hidden worries here as there was no advice on this in version 2 when I downed it.
