I'm trying to install the latest version of phpld I just purchased yesterday on the same server where I have Newstopica.
Yet when I launch the install.php I either get to the first step and then get a blank page or get a blank page from the start.

Newstopica runs fine on my server exept for importing feeds as you can see here http://www.phplinkdirectory.com/forum/showthread.php?p=22025&posted=1#post22025

Is there a way to manually install ?

Thanks in advance,

Ping

Be sure to set the permissions to your files from FTP.

temp/templates - 777 or 755
include/config.php - 777 or 755
install.php - 777 or 755 - this should be set automatically, if not set the permission.
backup - 777 or 755

In any case set them to 777, after you have done the install, set the config.php in your /include to 666 and delete the index.php in your /install folder and delete the install.php from your main directory.

Refresh the browser or clear your cache by F5.

Thanks for the info but I've tried and the result is still the same.
Could you possibly give me the sql file so I can install manually without the installer as you did in another thread for v2.0 ?

Thanks in advance,

@ ping

If you don't mind, send me via PM access details to your FTP/Cpanel and to your MySQL database, I will try to install it for you. Also I'll need the link to your directory.

Hi,

I'm having the same problem as the previous poster. I am trying to install, but at install.php all that's there is a blank white screen.

I did CHMOD all the necessary files to 777 but again, the problem persists.

What shall I do? Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks so much!

best,
Denise

Ah, never mind.

Not sure what the problem was. I finally uninstalled the phplinkdirectory. Then I re-installed it & tried again....and it finally worked.

Thanks again!
best,
Denise
