Server settings

Hi,

Just one simple question - my FTP connects but the server wont ... at first I thought the server was the host address and would be the same but obviously not.

Where do I find the server address ..... I know it's not rocket science but where is it??

you should be able to find your server settings for your database in the cpanel of your hosting account under MySQL Databases.

Nah ... everything I try comes up zilch! :(

what I thought it should be is mirach.lunarpages.com:xxxx - the last 4 digits being my address?? But this doesn't work. At the top left it does say Server:localhost as per the norm. Even tried the link it points to but nope .....

Does your host allow remote mysql connections.

That is the first thing

IF they do, then your domain name should be fine if it shows localhost.

Yes it allows remote access.

Ok, what I hadn't done was put my ip into "Remote mySQL" in C-Panel .... now I can connect
