Hi All,

Just had to share this one, after I finished shaking my head... I have been considering using postcard mailings to help with my local directory advertising, and today I received a piece of mail that illustrates the WRONG way to go about this.

So, it's a really nice black envelope ($$)... Hand addressed (time which = $$) and hand-stamped (time and "stamp tongue"). The back is held together with a really nice sticker with the logo of the company called Fast tails ($$)

It's addressed to "Resident" (what??). I open it and I find the following:
- Nice double-sided color postcard high quality glossy stock ($$$)
- Business card high quality glossy stock, color ($$)

Now, other than the "resident" part - they've got my attention right? [bt]

There's only one problem. Fast tails is a Mobile Porsche servicing company... but I don't own a Porsche!

Talk about wasting money and time without hitting your target audience ;-)

ROFL

The moral to this story is... "Know your target audience and don't waste money advertising to folks that aren't your target".

LOL. I got a similar fail-mail in my (personal) mailbox about three years ago. I mean; Who is thinking behind this? Doesn't anyone understand how to target the right audience?
