Hello,

This is david, once again bringing his problems to the board.

I think I have ghosts in the ACP!

I have made some new Sub-Sub Categories, and am trying to manually sort my links into them. I am starting of nice and easy, only "subbing" one of my Sub categories. (the forums one)

I have made several subs for this: Webdev, Entertain, Pets, Admins, General, etc. You get the picture. So I'm going down the list of links, editing them by only changing their place in the directory tree.

However, three of them were children of a Main Category. No problem, right? Just edit the link, change their place in the tree into a sub-sub category; simple as pie. WRONG!

The link doesn't update. It just reloads it, instead of taking me back to the list of links. It doesn't work on these 3 links, and I would love to know why!

Problem 2
So I think to myself, "Self, Why not inactivate them for now?" Guess what? They are no longer on the List! WTF? If I search for them, they appear.

What is going on? Am I losing my mind, and/or is it a glitch?

Thanks for reading,

Sleepless in Texas :: Dave

HA!, now this is a funny post :D I think Boby will grab this pretty quick when he see's it. If I knew the answer, I'd give it to you, but apparently I don't as I am not sure how this is caused.

Keep an eye out for the Invisible Boby, he'll show up ;)

Hello!

Problem1:
I have tried now to duplicate this problem but for me it works perfect.
So, I edit a link and just change the category. I changed it from the main category it is in, to a 10 level deep subcategory and it worked like a charm.
The same with a pending link and with an active link.

Problem2:
What links are no longer in the list? Pending links? Active links?
If they are pending links, have you probably set them as active, or maybe inactive?
Use the links page to search for them and look at their status:
Directory >> Links

Suggestion:
Clean your compiled temp files by removing all files in temp/templates/ or quicker from the admin panel:
Settings >> Maintenance >> Clean Temporary Files

If this won't help and you don't mind, send me login details to your admin panel via PM and give me some examples of links and where you want to put them (in what category)

Content visible to registered users only.
HaHaHa ... I'm the ghost of this forum, the ghost that watches you all! :D :D

Boby

Well, I ended up deleting one, and resubmitting from ACP and it let me place it where I wanted. I will do the same for the 2nd link.

However, I left "4teensonly" alone so that you could see the problem.
