I just did an experiment and wrote my second article on Wikipedia. It is short so far, but I wanted to see what you think so far:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human-edited_directories (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human-edited_directories)
I hope maybe others can contribite to this.
Thanks!
David

Well said, and informed on the list detail for submission plans. I like it :D

Well done David *Thumbs Up* I might even link to this on the FAQ's I have on my directory to give more information of what "Human Edited Directories" are all about.

Yes, and it will be great if a few people will contribute to this article.
Then later we can think about adding a new link with a list of Human Edited Directories. :)
That is not something we should take lightly though. We need a good article and some sub-pages of Wikipedia first.

Well, if you need any help, I'll be glad to help you with this. I used to runa wiki myself using wikipedia software and ran it well for UbuntuForums.org. The list of Human Edited Directories is a great idea, and this list I am sure is big, counting my directory ;)

We should also think about adding other types of directories with their listing, this is great advertisement and examples for those who are not sure of what a Human Edited Directory looks like or a Niche Directory as well, it's deffinently a thinker :)

Wikipedia is not very friendly to external links, so I suggest we create more content first before proceeding with adding lists of directories. We will need to work it in carefully, but I think there is a good chance it can happen.

Someone has already gone in there and added their links, and now the category is flagged for deletion as a "spam trap". I have removed those links.
It would be nice if some people would help write more content, rather than list their links.

This question may be what everyone has to ask, but what exactly would you like them to add?

News, updates, information based on directories and how affective they are, link popularity in results that a directory may have with backlinking, etc etc.

Yes, more information about what we do as directory owners, why people use directories and submit to them, and features of directories.

Without this, I don't believe the people at wikipedia will understand the value of a section devoted to this, which will help us all in the long run.

"This article is being considered for deletion in accordance with Wikipedia's deletion policy."

I really hope it doesn't get deleted, you did a great job on writing that article.
