well, browsing the forums and loving phpld I've seen a few threads about how to support the community etc. I can't write a mod or contribute in that fashion, but hey, money is the best support of all, isn't it?

I have a league which does fundraising on a monthly basis and we've played private online tournaments every month for the past 9 months and it's done very well each time. it's a way for people to support us and have fun while doing it...possibly even make money too. In a nutshell it would work like this:

let's say there is a buyin of $20 and just 10 people play...there is a prizepool of $200

1st place gets $90
2nd place gets: $50
3rd place gets: $25

the remaining $35 of the prizepool would go to this community..of course the payout structure can vary..it's just an example.

I won't be posting any affiliate links either...my motivation isn't that at all...but i do reccomend we use a particular poker room because they allow for the prizepool to be divided any way you want for private events.

interest?

yea, for those who take part in my league's monthly fundraiser tournaments, they all have fun even though they don't know the game that well...provided we keep the buyin realatively low so everyone can take part.

I guess all we'd need to get this off the ground would be 10 or more to make it worth while.

8 to go :)
