Payments

I was wondering about the payment features this script has to offer? How do I set it up? How can I tell if someone has sent me a payment?

I know it hooks up with the Paypal API in some way, but I don't have a live site taking payments right now, though I know several people do.

Mine is set up to accept them, but since it's early days and I'm just populating the site and starting to promote it, I've had no takers yet. Feel free to throw money at me if you wanna find out if it works *grin*

How did you set it up? Do you do anything with ipn.php?

no, didn't touch anything in there, simply put my paypal email addy into the admin interface and set up the options through admin. I haven't test driven this part yet - I guess I should :D , I'm still tweaking and haven't submitted this directory to the SE's yet. I did check source in the "payment" page and everything seems to be set up to work properly in the form. Basically this is just a "paypal buy it now" button incorporated into the script. Though these could be 'famous last words' there's really no reason it shouldn't work :wink:

Well I'll be keeping an eye on things and see what works and what doesn't. If anyone else out there can help me out please post.

It certainly works on my site - after the link is submitted, the user is taken to Paypal to make pyment, and I have been notified in the usual way (Email from paypal).

Only a couple of people have paid so far, so we're only talking a few pounds, but it definitely does work!

I set it up on www.finance-hub.com. It seems to be working but I never followed through with the purchase myself. Someone did actually contact me saying he tried to pay but got a blank page.

I went through and purchased links on a couple of sites using phpLD and they got my money just fine. ;) They also quickly approved my links.

Also, yesterday I started offering featured links on my directory (www.businessplexus.com), and so far received about a dozen purchases. I got an email each time they purchased, and then I went into admin and approved them. They weren't even spammy links. :)
