user - editor phpLD 3.05

I cannot find the difference regarded to this program between user and editor status.

registering as editor results in redirection to the permissionspage, holding the message : no record found, but no form to select some permission either.

Sometimes inlog as admin results in redirection instead of admin/index.php to root/index.php. Thanks to the session is changing the url possible, more a cosmetic problem.

An editor is charge of an entire category.
A user can only edit their own links.
I did not fully understand all your questions, but I hope this helps.

ummm surely a user would not be allowed to set his own permissions ;)

Editors cannot set permissions for what categories they are allowed to watch.
An editor is somehow like an moderator, the admin grants permission over several categories or it can be also just one category and then the edit can activate links or remove links from that categories.

Editors cannot access all pages of the admin area, most of them are available only for admins.

Regular users (for phpLD 3.0.3+) cannot access the admin panel, they can only submit links and review (edit) their own submitted links.
