hey guys, I moved FLD to a new server and I imported the .sql correctly, loaded my files correctly, but when I click on the categories on the main page, they're gone, but when I load the admin page and I click "Categories" they're there, did I miss something here?
Thanks :)
Check your .htaccess file ;)
Look, regular URL's are working, only rewritten URL's fail:

I'll tell everyone else what I just told you DM. The file disappears when you click refresh in the FTP Client.
Not sure why it does that, but it's really weird.

Fine no more pm's, I was having fun!
it's going to sound stupid but can you see hidden files? the dot infront of the file means it's a hidden system file....
Anyways I'd love to help more but the best advice I can offer is to upload a file called htaccess.txt and then rename it to .htaccess overwriting the old one.
I gotta get some sleep before work tonight, good luck I'll check back in about two hours to see how it went...

okay Post your .htaccess
and go into your database and post one record from your category table with an underscore, the problem is instead of it looking like this_and_this it's ending up with this___and___this so two more underscores than needed for each one...
I think that worked with the many underscores before. If that is the URL he entered for the categ it's working.
Steve, what if you close the FTP client and start again?
Maybe you ca try to upload via CPanel, or Plesk or whatever else.

.htaccess is below
Content visible to registered users only.
In the PLD_CATEGORY_SEQ it says: No index defined!
The filecontent seems OK. Maybe try out the default .htaccess that comes with phpLD.

Thanks for the help guys, but I'll keep this on temp downtime because I am not sure what the deal is. I tried the default .htaccess file, checked errors in the database...nothing.
Probably have to erase the database and start over. Thanks again..
No, you don't have to erase the DB!!
Just turn URL rewriting OFF from admin panel until the links work again. This way the directory is still running.
If you don't mind, send me your FTP access via PM and I will take a look. Maybe I can fix it.

Please dear god do not erease the DB!
That cannot be said enough!
Besides the table I was referring to was PLD_CATEGORY I apologize for not mentioning it before I was up a bit late when I posted it.

EEEP a phpbb forum.......
Were we too late????:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
Last I night I re-uploaded everything to his server and it was working partially. But it was phpLD not phpBB.
Boby
And now even his phpBB is gone ... changed with :eek: site shift :mad:

From one dev to another and for what it's worth, i really do appreciate your dedication and hard work towards the script Boby ;)
You actually help motivate me into creating all of the little odds and ends that I do. And while peopel like myself enjoy challenge, there are some that do not. To see a change from phpld to site sift is pretty much a smack in your face, i know, i say just look past it and lets keep making phpld better!

Content visible to registered users only. When an idiot leaves, sometimes I do not care, but when a good guy like Steve leaves, it makes me feel sad.
Nice to hear that I am motivating you :D HeHeHe
Later Edit: I just realized that my post counter just reached 1000 :D
woot! a milestone!!!
I am honored to be the subject of chat in your 1,000th post!!! hahaha
