Small little problem with my css (help plz)

I run the Newstopica script on my site and I have this small little spacing inconsistency between the category box and the top-bar in different browsers. In firefox the spacing is larger then in IE. Is there a way to correct this? I have a feeling it has to do with the way the browsers handle box models but I am very new to css (just got a book on it) and don’t know how to go about fixing this problem.
