Suggest New Category -

It would be nice for the person submitting thier link to suggest a new category with their link submission - if the category is approved their link could be approved at the same time.

Ok, this might work similar to the admin panel in DMOZ. I'll give that some thought.

I just noticed that if you submit a site to a sub-category the mian page does not count a link for instance...

Home - Shopping (0) (main category listed on the directory homw page)
- Gifts (47)
- Clothes (12)
- Shoes (18 )

The main category does not count the listings that are in the sub-category...

It would be nice if it did, you could have thousands of links, and everyone will think you have none - unless some of those listings are submitted to the top category. (submitting to the top category might not be as relevant)

More feature enhancements that would help make you the very best...

Ability to add sponsor listings
Show sub-categories on main page
Allow for xml feed
Ability to set a schedule for automatic link checking
Built in ad rotator

You have the makings of the very best link exchange directory I have ever seen.

I'm working on the answer about the category counts now.
The scheduled automatic link checking is already in the works and will be part of v2.
I have implemented the subcategory feature in the past.
I'll see if I can do something about this again in v2.

Those are good ideas. I like the XML feed, ad rotator and sponsored listings. I will try to make to make happen....just give me a little time.

If you are in a position to donate to the cause, please do so, because this will allow me to pay programmers to furthur the cause sooner.

I appreciate your desire to help. I hope you will post more in the forums. As we generate more activity, it will help others see that we have an active community of support. I have a programmer examining the issue now with category counts. Most likely, it will not be an issue in v2.
