smtp email problem

Hi,

Just checking out the automatic email notification on link submission. I created a email template okay. I have set the program to use my SMTP settings and mail is going out okay, but the mail sent does not have senders email address hence is being received as sent by NOBODY. What am I doing wrong? Where do I need to set the Site email Id so that the auto responder picks it up.

By the way I have checked the SMTP settings in the admin and they are fine...??

Hi !

This is strange. I was trying it out by setting up a template for Link Approval and upon approving the link the mail came through with the correct headers and email address (as in Profile).

I will try the Link submission again and see.

Hi,

Still getting the same problem on Link Submission. The mail comes through but without the senders email address. Its late night now so I think I shall work on this tomorrow.

Just a thought, should I re-write the Template ? Could that be causing the problem?

Are you by chance using the in-process "RC5" version? I tried that and had the same problem but I don't have the problem with RC4.

No I am not using rc5 but am using rc4. I was able to fix the problem by applying YKTAN's MOD which can be found at

Works like a charm now :).

Oh, yeah! I'd forgotten about that fix but I applied it too.

I guess that needs to be implemented in RC5, too.

Okay...I am having an issue with the Payment Notification email. It seems to come through okay in the Admin, but the notification to the customer is not going out. The customer is getting the Submit notification instead (well I suppose he should get that on submission, but the payment notification should go out after completing Paypal payment).

I tested it live through paypal...everything works except the Submit notification to the customer/Link submitter.
