Alternatives to DMOZ

What, if any, alternatives are out there for free use as directory structures? Apologies for hijacking the sub-forum here but it's the closest thing I've found for likeminded PHP Directory developers on the old interwab so far :)

Why don't you try creating your own?

it may not be perfect, but at least then maybe your directory stands out to people as the one that doesn't look like all the others (in terms of structure, not looks)

Too big a task. At present we are using 1020 unique subjects and we are growing all the time.
