View Full Version : Links Out & Images With Submissions
1) Is there a reason why it's not good to have the links going out of the directory site open in a new window? So that the main directory and site stays active.
If desired, is there a way to code this in, or change some code already there to implement this?
2) Would there be a way to code in to the script to allow users submitting their links to upload a optional banner or image (size specified in admin) with their listing.
And make it so that admin could specify the size by listing type and add an extra cost for this if desired.
For instance, as examples: Allowing an optional 468 banner for featured listings - and setting extra cost if chosen. Allowing an optional 125 banner with regular listings - and setting the extra cost if chosen.

Thanks to those who have already dedicated so much time to this script and mods! Really enjoying the script so far, still just feeling my way around it and putting it into action. Plan to donate in the next couple of weeks as I have the funds. :)

My apologies -- I saved this MOD but not the author's name. You can find it elsewhere on this forum though:
Find in lib\smarty\plugins\modifier.linkalize
Find line-

Replace with

Thanks for the instructions, but when looking I don't have this file? I installed the newest stable release....
my files go from:
libs/smarty/plugins/modifier.indent.php
to
libs/smarty/plugins/modifier.lower.php
no linkalize file in between.

Oh. I'm using RC4 -- had a problem wioth the earlier version of RC5 so I'm waiting for debugging.
Suggest you wait for one of the coders of RC5 to come along... sorry.

Looks like we all need to start listing with our posts which version we're using!

Indeed, and I hope to be reviving the WebSVN from the dead shortly. :)

*laughing* I as well, though I'm having a little problem with rc5.1, due to something wonky I did myself I've no doubt....
Too bad in a way, because the code that minstrel posted looked like something I wanted to mess with!

Dana, the new RC5.2 is done with that mod as well as one of the other developers mods.
You can turn on the BLANK windows by selecting YES under System > Edit Settings > Directory > New Windows
The image banner thing is a good idea, but I don't feel it's something that will be addressed right now, as not many would use it and there are other things that need to be taken care of first. I'm not saying this isn't important, it just isn't on the front burner right now. It'll be placed on the wishlist for future development.
Thank you for your suggestions, as they are GREATLY appreciated :)

And for those not quite ready to take the RC5 plunge, I forgot there was a second part to that code, which was for version 1 -- Ap0s7le found the thread here:

Thanks everyone for all the replies. :)
