Expiring Links

Is there a way to set a different expiration time for different types of links. Like I may want regular free links to never expire as long as the reciprocal is there. But I do want my featured links to have a set expiration. And I would like for when my featured links expire that the just get dropped down to regular link status.

I'm not sure if this is possible already somehow and I just missed it, or if there is a way to modify what's there to do this somehow.
