I can't seem to figure out where to do this. It seems as if it should be similar to selecting "alphabetical" for links, but I'm not finding it for subcategories....

Hey there, having a good day? I am, it's been beautiful outside though it's to hot to actually go OUT!

Anyway.

Can you show me the directory that isn't sorted? I looked at a couple of installs and they seem to be.

Also, could you email me a copy your index.php, so I can see the code without publicly posting it?

Thanks

-Casey

Sure. Index here: http://reallyrelevantresults.bytehaven.com/. Of the top four categories, the subcats are sorted alpha on three of them; out of the bottom 6 cats, the subcats are sorted alpha on 2 of them. (The "not sorting alpha" cats are Gamer'sWorld, RealWorld, RecreationWorld, PetWorld and TechWorld.) I'm looking at it as I type, after clearing cache and hard-refreshing a couple of times just to be on the safe side.

This happens as well on my local install.

I'll email you the index.php as soon as I finish downloading 5.2....

Quick hack coming, please wear a hardhat.
Find the line closest to the bottom of index.php that says

Content visible to registered users only.

Replace it with
Content visible to registered users only.

And call me in the morning.

I'll look into a sorting option in the admin for subcats later as I get some time, I need a break and some fresh air.

*laughing* Well, that's WAY better than "take two aspirin"!

Okay, I will give that a shot on my local install, see what it does, and report back. Thanks for the quick response, and enjoy the fresh air! (Re your earlier question: the weekend was nice, regardless that bow season started yesterday - don't get me wrong, I hunt too, but idiots with bows in a residential area even if it IS up here in the mountains.... but it's been quiet and cool, so I'm happy....)

Worked like a charm, Casey. Now all I have to do is get it done online.... Thanks so much! I really have a hard time dealing with puzzles like that - I want to just beat them into submission.... usually ineffective of course.

[Edit: and online install is done as well. What I had to beat into submission was the database *sigh*.... don't ask!]

True, that does however work for children. *slap*

Just kidding of course.

Heh - yah, parents who don't "spare the rod" these days wind up in jail.... I was lucky, all you had to do with my daughter was "look" at her and tell her that for a smart kid she was being abysmally stupid, and she got "fixed" immediately....
