View Full Version : convert links to html page

Guys,I cant find it but I think there was a mod that would convert (create separate page for every link) links to HTML pages. That way if we would have 100 links in category on 1 page we would now, after conversion, have 100 additional PAGES with detailed link description. Of course, all directory stuff would stay as it is now - jsut for every link there would be another separate "details" page generated . This is very usable with search engines since pages would be very specific on certain topic (= the theme of that link).

Here is example to make it more clear(some random site):

/blog/543.html

I prefer to keep links like we have now - that means if someone clicks on link it takes him to actual website.Having to click 2 times to visit actual link is annoying. So I think the best would be to ADD a small text next to link (like "rate it" text) that would say "Details" and this would take us to the separate details page like in URL above.

or we could do it like in this example:
/Automobiles.html
where link title takes you to details page and actual url takes you to actual site.

Here is an idea - someone posted that rating mod already. We could join this rating link so it would be like on that URL above. That way we would get highly keywords targeted page for every link (having 500 pages in SE instead of one or few big ones is a lot better) AND we could use that page for comments or rating feature.I think that rating mod would need jsut few tweak to be turned into "details"page.Example of rating mod :

/directory/rate.php?id=21

Yes, we had this in version 1 of this script. Hopefully, someone will find time to work on this. Right now, most of the "volunteers" are working on some other mods.

I like the details idea.

I'll make some notes.
