hello, check out vodcastz. I've been altering the design and layout of the default template after a disastrous time trying to hack the stoneflash and springbreak and vegabond's template! Relieved now! :)

Which file do I alter to play with the category tree which is on the homepage?

I would also like to stretch it across 100% of this table and place some areas underneath for articles and content etc.

Any ideas?

Category tree as in the category listings themseleves that are displayed in the main section are located in the main.tpl.

if you are refering to the 'breadcrumb' trail (e.g. - directory > internet > games) etc etc, that should be located in the top_bar.tpl

ok, that worked a bit. Haven't really tried to move the tree internally at all. Too scared i will stuff it all up after so much hard work. Tryin to make it look very web 2.0

As for the google ads down the right...notice how the ad appears on the category page like....http://www.vodcastz.com/Travel/

how do work with this?

Got it to change okay by moving one of the {/if} commands to include the <td> that was causing the trouble. Dunno if what I did was the proper thing to do but it certainly does seem to work.

....still not finished but at least I could leave things for a day or two and it wouldn't look like a complete shambols!
