Looking to upgrade

My directory http://mashd.info is only version 2 right now but I am looking to purchase version 3. Will I still have all my links and my information or will I have to start over?

you retain all of your links and categories and everything database wise that already exist.

remember to always back up prior to upgrading though.

How do I do a backup? Can't find it in the admin cpanel, do I just get files from my server?

If you have access to phpmyadmin, the most important part is a backup of the database. In cpanel phpmyadmin is usually a link near the bottom of the mysql page.

While not entirely relevant to the original post, I would add to regularly back up your database. You would be surprised what kind of unexpected things can happen. Trust me! ;)
