Is there a way I can set up the import feeds script to only import feeds from cats 1,2,3 or from feed 1 to 35. Is there a parameter to run the validate script and deactivate invalid feeds and reactivate good ones ?

In current version we have only features to import single RSS Feed, all RSS Feeds from single category or all RSS Feeds.

Is this documented somewhere ? Eg: if I need to import from cats 1,5,6,9 what is the parameter for import_feeds.php ?

As I said in my previous post, in current version we can import single RSS Feed, all RSS Feeds from single category or all RSS Feeds - this means that we cant use range of directories/feeds.
