Cross Referencing Categories

I did search around but didn't find the information that I needed to see if phpld v3.x will be able to do cross referencing of categories.

What I am wondering is if phpld allows for cross referencing of categories? Basically I am looking for is the ability to put a a single link into several different categories. For example, a store is in Mass (subcategory) but sells product A (category) and product B (sub category). The link should exist in all three categories (or sub categories). Does this make sense?

Have you tried the symbolic category feature? It's in the admin area categories page, a button on the top.

Yes I have but it doesn't allow for exactly what I am looking for. If a store is in Mass (state categories) and sells product A (symbolic category), that store will show up for every state. Right? And I only what that store for that product to show up for a particular state.

Also, I was hoping to allow for two different trees. So a user could drill down a category tree by location or a category tree by product.

Hopefully this makes sense.

I'm not quite following...

Let's say you have something like this:

Content visible to registered users only.

Now if you click Subcategory B3 it will point to Subcategory A1. I don't know how your categories are structured.
