View Full Version : RC5.2 - Admin username and password invalid

I just downloaded the newest version this morning and this is my first time using the script.

I was able to upload the script with no problems until I tried to login to my admin area - I receive this notice - Invalid username and password.

I have searched this topic and have done the suggestions that I have found.

1. I double checked to see if I set the permissions as per the install instructions.
2. I logged into my MyPHPAdmin and made sure that I was using the correct username and password.
3. I then uploaded the script again and set it up a second time.

I am still getting the same message.
Is anyone else experiencing this in this new release and does anyone have any other ideas of what I may need to do?

Hi Wendy, I believe you're the first with this problem. At least it's not been brought to my attention.

What are your server details, such as OS, apache, IIS, PHP version etc

Anything you can provide would be appreciated.

Here are the server details, which is through HostingMatters.com

OS - Linux
PHP Version - 4.3.10
My SQL version - 4.0.25-standard

Hmm Wendy, sounds a bit odd to me.

Could you PM me your FTP / CPanel details?

I'd like to have a look later this evening when I get some free time.

I have also downloaded RC5.2 and am experiencing exactly the same problem as Wendy. I know I am using the same username and password as entered during set-up, yet the system does not allow me to log in? Any update would be greatly appreciated!

Have you tried deleting cookies?
Also, have you tried using a different browser?
I've known several who switched from IE to FF (or visa versa) and it solved their problem

Hello Tobias, in some cases the server is configured very strange and a lil debugging is in order.

PM me your FTP details and I'll have a look.
