Hi,

If you click on the link below:

http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=site:www.hitfix.co.uk/environment/&hl=en&lr=&cr=countryUK|countryGB&c2coff=1&start=10&sa=N

you will see that google has indexed some pages of my directory in a very odd way such as http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&ct=res&cd=12&url=http%3A//www.hitfix.co.uk/environment/sport-fitness/bikes/household-appliances/&ei=efYWQ7DcEsbYwgHpocnHCw

The categories sport-fitness/bikes/ haven't existed in a while - and while I can understand that google will take a while to realise this, why has it decided to list pages and categories after it?? Such as household-appliances/ and lots of others.

I am perplexed!

I would appreciate any advice please.

1. Have patience. Google usually spiders all pages that aren't too deep inside the web site.
2. Set up a sitemap to all pages.
3. Several reports last months says Googlebot is freaking out. This is thought to be temporarly, so be patient on this as well. Might have do to with some future Google dance around the corner.

Thanks Nobody,

I understand what you have siad about sitemaps and so on - but my query was about google indexing pages in categories that are no longer there - and never should have been

Such as this

http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&ct=res&cd=11&url=http%3A//www.hitfix.co.uk/environment/sport-fitness/bikes/household-appliances/&ei=9AsYQ7WcMMuKRe-evcwM

should have been indexed as http://www.hitfix.co.uk/environment/household-appliances/

It just keeps adding pages into the same non existant category!

If this is what you mean about crazy googlebot - then OK but just wanted to clarify that it is indeed a google problem and not mine.

Thanks for your reply.

Oh.

Well I think this might have to do with the traditional session ID problem. However, both URL's lead to content...

Any programmers may support on this issue?
